Two years on and Furneux Pelham villagers still have heard no further developments to the unsolved murder of Col Riley Workman.
Police and Press had a low-key presence in the village today.
A letter from DCI Colin Sparrow was delivered by hand by the police to residents of Furneux Pelham today:

Dear Resident,

Two years ago, on January 7, retired Lieutenant Colonel Riley Workman was shot dead on the doorstep of his home in Furneux Pelham.

As a local resident I am sure that you are more than aware of his murder and the subsequent police investigation.

Life in the village has moved on and I’m sure that you are grateful for that.  However, I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that every piece of information we receive in relation to Riley’s murder is investigated.  I am determined to pursue every conceivable line of enquiry available to the investigation and will continue to do so.  Riley’s family are still coming to terms with the loss of their much loved relative and our thought turn to them at this difficult time of year.

One of the Constabulary’s mobile police stations will be in the village on January 7 between mid morning and early evening so please feel free to speak to officers who will be within the station about the investigation.
